Youth club for young refugees and asylum seekers
An example of a church which started a youth venture among vulnerable young refugees and asylum seekers.
"Once the basic needs of young refugees and asylum seekers are provided for [by the authorities], their other needs take a back seat. The church welcomed them with open arms. It provides a safe space for young people to come, to enjoy, to feel at home. We get satisfaction from seeing them smile and open up to us about stuff they have never talked about with anyone else. That way we can help them get over things that have happened in the past and signpost them to the right kind of help that they need."
