Youth STEM Matters
From YouthSTEM2030
Glasgow based social enterprise, YouthSTEM2030, is determined to empower young people around the world to use science, technology, engineering and maths to change the world through progress towards the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
With young people leading and using STEM, they imagine a world where poverty doesn’t exist, where inequalities are a thing of the past, where everyone has access to quality education, good healthcare, nutritious food and clean water, where economic growth is sustainable - and doing all this while taking urgent climate action and protecting the life in our waters and on land.
They are:
-
Youth Led. Led by young people, for young people, because young people can change the world.
-
Collaborative. Bringing together motivated people and organisations who share the vision, so that, together, more can be achieved
-
Dynamic, Experimenting to find new, better, ways of doing things with a bias for action.
-
Inclusive. Diversity and accessibility as a default: leaving no-one behind.
Their flagship project - Youth STEM Matters - provides young people with a platform to share their research, innovations and ideas with the world. They are 'staffed' by 47 volunteers from 19 countries.
Currently they are organising an online Youth STEM Summit and letting young people design the programme. They have had 238 submissions from 39 countries. Final decisions will be made by a team of 9 young people from 9 countries.
Why not encourage any young people you know with an interest in STEM to get involved?
