The Flourishing Business Canvas is part of the Flourishing Enterprise Innovation Toolkit created by the Strategic Innovation Lab at Toronto’s OCAD University, Canada’s largest design school. A group of business entrepreneurs, research professors, and systemic-designers work together to produce a concrete vision to help all enterprises flourish with new definitions of success that integrates social, environmental and economic factors.
Their vision is a world where human enterprises no longer merely attempt to do less harm, but instead set at their core the goal of sustaining the possibility for human and other life to flourish on this planet for seven generations – contributing to the realization of the UN SDGs and beyond.
They imagine futures where successful enterprises create tri-profit: social benefits, environmental regeneration and financial returns. Flourishing enterprises do good to do well.
The Flourishing Enterprise Innovation Toolkit is a management innovation to enable leaders to design their flourishing enterprise: socially beneficial, environmentally regenerative and financially viable. The toolkit includes the Flourishing Business Canvas and methodologies for its effective use in established enterprises and start-ups, and more.
