Walking in Gratitude
From a video by Take Care
When Nicola, a working mother of four and graduate student, faces serious mental and physical health issues, she finds herself saying, “thank you.” She discovers that by practicing gratitude, she is able to get through a difficult time and come out feeling stronger and more whole.
Nicola’s story illustrates the power of gratitude to transform struggles into opportunities. After multiple setbacks, she is able to heal physically and emotionally by building an attitude of gratitude. Spending time walking in nature, she feels whole - and she shares this appreciation with friends and family during what she calls “gratitude walks.”
Nicola’s story is a reminder that two simple words - ”thank you” - can have a profound effect on our lives (and those around us), especially when times are tough. Practicing gratitude is an important part of our whole health journey.
"Gratitude can transform lives - like a reset button, fresh start, or new beginning that can bring freedom and fullness to life." Robert A. Emmons, Professor of Psychology and Founding Editor-in-Chief, The Journal of Positive Psychology
