Online - Connecting Communities Across Difference
@
Bringing groups of people together with shared interests and building bridges between different groups. This webinar will be led by Nick Gardham in Partnership with the Jo Cox Foundation, who lead The Great Get Together, an annual celebration bringing communities together.
One of the key parts of our Community Organising Framework is connecting communities. We will hear stories of how we have done this as part of our work within the community and how by doing this you realise that, as Jo Cox once said “we are far more united and have far more in common than that which divides us.”
We will hear from our colleagues and friends at the Jo Cox Foundation about the work they do to connect communities across the UK as part of their annual Great Get Together in June and the stories of connection they hear up and down the country as part of their More in Common Network.

In-Person and Online - How to scale social innovations: influencing and advocacy - London
@Nesta, 58 Victoria Embankment, London
NESTA. Achieving social impact at scale is rarely a straightforward journey. Far too many transformative ideas languish at the pilot stage or lose momentum because they struggle to influence the right people at the right time.
Following on from a first session on building delivery networks, this second session on How to scale social innovations, focuses on the power of influencing others. We will explore what it takes to engage the people who can drive large-scale adoption of an idea, drawing on the panel's experiences and the practical frameworks we’ve tried here at Nesta, showcased in our scaling toolbox.
A panel of experts who have successfully navigated the challenges that come with influencing people will discuss lessons from the frontline of scaling, from campaigning and advocacy to engaging directly with policymakers. We will also touch on the role of advising and training others to help grow an idea or advocate for it on your behalf.
