Online - Trauma Proof: Healing, Attachment and the Science of Prevention
@
How does childhood trauma shape our minds, bodies and futures? Can secure attachments really improve health outcomes and prevent the cycle of intergenerational adversity? And how do we use the science of trauma, adversity and resilience to transform population health outcomes?
Join this thought-provoking and hopeful webinar with Benjamin Perks and Warren Larkin, where they will unpack the science, stories and practical steps that can transform lives.
Ben Perks, author of the ground-breaking new book Trauma Proof: Healing, Attachment and the Science of Prevention, draws on his powerful personal journey and 25 years of global child advocacy with the UN and UNICEF. In conversation with Consultant Clinical Psychologist and trauma expert

In-Person - Love & Trouble Screening + Q&A - Edinburgh
@Cameo Picturehouse, 38 Home St, Edinburgh
About the film:
Kenny and Kerry marry with secrets that almost blow their young family apart. After their new baby is born, Kenny's PTSD is triggered by his crying. Kenny no longer knows what is real, calls it ‘the screams’.
It seems the marriage is over. But Kerry makes a choice - to return to school, study how the brain works, and discover that suffering isn’t a given - you can “use thoughts to change feelings”.
We follow their recovery over ten years, through psychiatric medication, talking therapy, horses, race-cars and ice swimming as they emerge with new insights and resilience for their life ahead.

Also shown across Scotland in June and July - see locations and dates here: https://www.dartmouthfilms.com/loveandtrouble
