Let My Church Grow is an experiential taster day exploring what it means to build an integrated approach to the formation of mission and discipleship as a culture, as well as developing suitable vehicles for community life and raising leaders You will hear the story of what God is has done through through this movement and the principles learned along the way. You will learn what it looks like to raise missionary disciples, and how to pioneer, plant and grow Missional Communities. This is not a journey for the faint-hearted, but for all who know ‘there must be more to church life than this’. It’s for all who want a church that looks more like ‘the church that Jesus died for and is coming back for’. It’s for those who want a contributor, not a consumer way of being and doing church. It’s for those who recognise the need for a change of culture, not just a tweaking of structure.
Building resilience in Scotland’s boys - Edinburgh
@COSLA Conference Centre, Verity House, 19 Haymarket Yards, Edinburgh, EH12 5BH
Developing resilience helps children understand and value the importance of looking after their own mental health and equips them with the skills to be able to overcome difficulties and stresses in life. However, for some this process can be particularly challenging – be that caused through trauma, emotional regulation or a lack of caring or supportive relationships. Continuing our successful series on Supporting Boys, this one-day training conference will use a mix of speaker presentations and roundtable discussion sessions, to explore how we can build resilience amongst Scotland’s boys. It will offer those who work with boys and young men the opportunity to share ideas and experiences of how we can best support them to open up about how they are feeling and provide them with the knowledge and capacity to work through the difficulties or challenges they encounter.
